The 5 most common strategy execution challenges

first_img continue reading » Studies show that on average 67 percent of companies fall short in achieving their strategic goals. In the wise words of Stephen Covey, “Most leaders would agree they’d be better off having an average strategy with superb execution, then a superb strategy with poor execution.”So why is strategy execution so difficult? Is it process, people, systems? Who or what is responsible for the lack of strategic goal attainment? This article will address the most common strategy execution challenges while also providing change management recommendations that can be quickly adopted to begin the transformation to a highly effective strategy execution company.Let’s lay out a typical scenario that happens in many organizations today. The leadership team schedules a strategic planning offsite retreat where the brain trust of the company comes together to create the latest winning strategy. After two days or so, the team has agreed to a set of strategic goals critical to the growth and—potentially—the viability of the company. The strategic plan is pulled together in a nice tidy document and plans are made to share it at an upcoming all-staff meeting. Martinez sings De Bruyne’s praises after Scotland rout

first_imgRelatedPosts Batshuayi double helps Belgium to massive win over Iceland Castagne signs Leicester City deal De Bruyne may miss Belgium League games for birth of child Belgium coach, Roberto Martinez, has hailed Kevin De Bruyne as “the best playmaker in the world” after he scored one goal and set up three more in their 4-0 win over Scotland. This was in Euro 2020 qualifying match on Monday. Belgium was without injured captain Eden Hazard but his absence went unnoticed as the world’s top ranked team turned in a slick, overwhelming performance, going 3-0 up by halftime. With six wins from six games in Group I, the Belgians need just two points from their remaining four matches to be sure of a place at next year’s finals. “For me, he is the best playmaker in the world,” said Martinez. “Playmakers dictate the tempo, give perfect passes and they take responsibility. He did all of that against Scotland.” Martinez also said he was glad to see other players step up and lead the way with Hazard out injured. He added: “I was really pleased with the performances of our experienced players particularly because Eden Hazard was not here. “They had to take over the leadership and show by example, and I thought Jan Vertonghen did that perfectly, he’s a really strong leader.” Despite the praise being heaped upon De Bruyne’s shoulders, the Manchester City man played down his performance. “I didn’t play a world class match, I just did my job,” he told reporters. He added: “When your career is over, then you can look back at what you did. But at this moment I just want to win matches.” Belgium, three points ahead of Russia in their group, will face San Marino in Brussels on October 10.Tags: BelgiumDe BruyneRoberto MartinezScotlandlast_img read more
