Required fields are marked * Name (required)  Mail (required) (not be published)  Website  Top of the News Pasadena’s ‘626 Day’ Aims to Celebrate City, Boost Local Economy center_img The Pasadena Unified School District is seeking authority from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) to hire up to 32 qualified teacher on emergency permits for CLAD (Crosscultural, Language, and Academic Development), Library Media Teacher Services, Clinical or Rehabilitative Services and limited assignment teachers at its different schools in the Pasadena area.PUSD’s Board of Education is expected to adopt Thursday, June 30, a Declaration of Need for Fully Qualified Educators, which when approved will be submitted to the CCTC for action. The CCTC is the approving authority which decides when PUSD can start hiring the emergency permit teachers.Once adopted by the Board of Education, the Declaration will remain in force until June 30, 2017. California Code of Regulations Section 80026 required that the annual declaration be adopted by the governing board at a regularly scheduled public meeting of the board.The declaration is based on last year’s actual needs and projected student enrolment and staffing allocations for the 2016-2017 school year.According to a PUSD breakdown, 10 teachers will be needed for CLAD/English Learner Authorization, 10 for Bilingual Authorization, five Resource Specialists and seven teacher-librarians for the school year.PUSD will also need authority from the CCTC for 25 Limited Assignment Permit teachers – five for multiple subjects, 10 for single subjects and 10 for special education subjects, according to Thursday’s meeting agenda for the Board of Education.The Board will also act Thursday on several contracts for facilities improvement, consultant contracts and purchase orders, and discuss and approve the 2018-2019 school calendar.PUSD’s Board of Education meets at the Ebie J.
